Long Lost Blog
I just rediscovered this blog I set up several years ago and I'm thinking perhaps I will start writing here. Not for anyone else to read, but for my own satisfaction.
I'm a very different person than I was in 2006 when I posted the two songs here. I really enjoy those songs; I heard them at my church which I no longer attend and sometimes miss. Mostly I miss some of the people and the sense of belonging, but I am more happy with my spiritual practice now than I was then. I'm more comfortable with me and what I believe and what my path in life looks like.
I was recently asked if I saw myself as having a ministry and in a sense I really do. My work is a calling. I do believe I have been called to do it. I believe I am being led every day to 'do the right thing'. The work I do requires love, patience, understanding, humility and great compassion. It is important work and I feel very privileged to be able to serve the families I work with. I honestly don't think I could work the long stressful hours I do without a strong spiritual base helping me to maintain my balance. I'm not talking about religion, but rather being connected and grounded with 'something' greater than yourself. I don't think it is important what you call that 'something' as long as you realize the importance of that relationship.
Well, that is enough deep thought for one day.
Peace and Love,
Kim
